Reporting into the Global Marketing Director, the Content Marketing Manager will play a key role in developing Vagaro UK’s content marketing strategy and production schedule. You will be instrumental in helping us build our brand awareness and credibility in the UK, and educating and inspiring the British beauty / wellness communities on the benefits of Vagaro’s award-winning software.

This position will require a commercially savvy and creative storyteller, with a passion and interest in software, marketing, and beauty & wellness. You will have previous experience in producing high-quality content for performance marketing, and comfortable regularly engaging with / interviewing clients and prospects in-person and digitally as a face of Vagaro. The successful candidate will be an organised self-starter with a get-it-done attitude, capable of independently managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and internal / external stakeholders across the country and globe.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Content production: Creating content daily for a variety of print and digital platforms – from magazines to email marketing, social media posts, website landing pages and blogs, to out-of-home billboards and radio ads. You will be involved in developing short and long-form content across the entire spectrum of marketing! The opportunity to regularly meet and communicate with our clients around the country to capture and showcase their stories on our digital and print platforms will be a key aspect of this role.
  • Content localisation: Proofreading and editing content before being published, you will creatively translate and adapt US content to ensure the language, tone and references are appropriate for a British audience.
  • Content strategy: Partnering closely with the Global Marketing Director and global marketing teams to develop content strategies. Help us achieve our commercial goals by effectively positioning Vagaro as the global leader for SaaS within the hair, beauty and wellness industries, and a credible resource for all things business and marketing relevant to small-business owners in the UK.
  • Content ideation: Researching marketing and industry trends to ensure our content is relevant, engaging, and discoverable. Collaborating with the global marketing teams to ideate and define topics most pertinent to our British target markets. Develop a quarterly content calendar for the UK, to help us reach, and exceed, our engagement and SEO performance goals and ensure content consistency across all UK channels.
  • Content optimisation: Ensuring we follow SEO best practices when developing digital content. From content ideation to creation, an understanding and appreciation of SEO strategies is vital for this role.
  • Reporting & monitoring: Regularly reviewing content performance and exploring ideas to further improve visibility and engagement. Tracking the impact of their content using analytics tools to generate weekly reports / presentations.

Skills & Experience:

Background & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communication, or similar.  
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in content creation, marketing, journalism, communications, or similar fields.  
  • A portfolio of published work available to share as part of the interview process. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)  
  • Strong photography skills for use across a variety of print and digital platforms. Ability to use a DSLR camera. 
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g. Asana, Trello, Monday, etc) to communicate status of tasks and for daily collaboration with global marketing teams.  
  • Familiarity using content management systems and analytics tools (e.g. WordPress, Hygraph,  Hubspot, Google Analytics, Amplitude). 
  • Good understanding of SEO for content marketing. Experience using SEO tools (e.g. Moz, SEMrush). 
  • The ability to keep abreast of content marketing and beauty / wellness industry trends. 
  • Comfortable learning new technologies – your induction will entail a week of in-depth training to learn Vagaro’s software, in order to be able to write about and promote it authentically! 
  • Graphic design / videography skills desired, not essential.  
  • Good knowledge of content and layout design tools (e.g. Adobe InCopy, InDesign, Canva) desired, not essential.

  • Personable, friendly and comfortable with an external customer-facing role
  • Customer relationship management – communication, customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and with remote teams. Self-starter / self-motivated.
