The Accounts Payable Specialist will take full ownership of the accounts payable accounting function, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They will manage multiple priorities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders while reporting to the Accounting Manager. This individual is dedicated to creating and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs for the organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to continuous improvement and excellence in accounts payable and financial accounting functions.
How you will contribute:
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including clerical support, processing incoming invoices, and maintaining prompt communication with vendors.
- Conduct weekly check runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments.
- Verify financial documentation (e.g., PO, power BI) to maintain accurate records and prevent overpayments.
- Record all cash outflow transactions and reconcile credit card transactions.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, collaborating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Identify and lead process improvements within the accounts payable function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Assist with various accounting tasks, including month-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Develop, implement, and execute process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and enhance the month-end close process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who we are searching for:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable and financial accounting, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Netsuite, and understanding of PowerBI.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of independently driving process improvements and contributing to team success.
- Able to work onsite in Pleasanton, CA.
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in Airbase.
- 3+ years experience in accounts payable and financial accounting.
